"If I were no more"

" If I Were No More"

If I were no more, would the silence be deep,

Would the sky miss my gaze, would the earth softly weep?

Would time just keep moving, as it always has done,

Or would someone pause, searching where I'd once begun?

Would laughter still echo where mine used to be,

Or would someone remember the light that was me?

Not a fire, perhaps — but a flickering flame,

That warmed a few hearts, though it never sought fame.

If I were no more, would someone still find,

My footprints in memories I left behind?

A note in a book, a half-written thought,

A kindness I gave without knowing I ought.

The world would go on — it always does so —

But echoes remain in the places we go.

A moment, a word, a glance in the rain,

Can carry a soul through unbearable pain.

So if you are fading, or feeling unseen,

Please know: you are more than the space in between.

The world is not better without you in view —

It is better because it still holds you.
